Thank you for inviting me to be one of your goodwill ambassadors. I would like to support the goals for “Radio4Handicaps” to cover the Paralympics London 2012. The goals of R4H are similar with mine in promotion of disability rights in all spheres of life and in particularly sports. We have similar objectives of motivating millions of people with disabilities and their families and letting the world know of their plight.
As a Paralympics champion and goodwill Ambassador for CBM I know and understand the essential of having coverage for the Paralympics sports which sometimes are not given adequate coverage like the Olympics. It is essential for the world to know disability is not inability. What able persons can do the unable persons can do as well. The challenge is to have equal opportunities and recognition as sports cuts across the physical personality divide.
I am proud to associate with R4H as this radio station champion the rights and give visibility to persons with disabilities. R4H had previously covered the last two Paralympics and it has proved to be the voice of people living with disabilities thus amplifying their needs and rights to the world.
I fully support the cause of R4H.
